Jerry Hardaway brings his experience and expertise to the National Bowl staff. Hardaway’s experience within the game of football varies from tight end coach to player personnel to NFL scout.
After his college playing career at Southern Illinois University in 1978, Hardaway took a job with Grambling State University and coached running backs, wide receivers, and special teams over a six year span. In addition to coaching at Grambling State, Hardaway was also the recruiting coordinator. In 1982, he received the GSU Coach of the Year award.
In 1984, Hardaway coached running backs at the University of California, where he helped the Bears become a national powerhouse. He was in charge of recruiting at California and rewarded for doing so with the “Recruiting Coach of the Year” award in 1984. In 1987, Hardaway took his skills of recruiting to the professional stage when he joined the Arizona Cardinals in 1987. He recruited football greats Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Thomas Jones, and Antrel Rolle.
